
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Zambales Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted an informative lecture on the salient features of Republic Act No. 11055 (RA 11055) and the National ID Authentication Services for 16 employees of the San Marcelino District Hospital (SMDH) on July 7, 2025.
Participants included personnel from the hospital’s Records Section, who play a key role in verifying the authenticity of National ID cards presented by patients and clients during transactions.
The session opened with an invocation and welcoming remarks by Mr. Roger Delos Santos, Head of the SMDH Records Section, who formally introduced the activity and acknowledged the PSA as a valued partner in public service.
Information Officer I Dona D. Balasabas of PSA Zambales facilitated the lecture using an engaging, interactive format. The session began with a dynamic question-and-answer portion designed to assess participants’ existing knowledge and clarify misconceptions surrounding the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
Key topics presented during the session included:
• Overview of RA 11055 – The legal basis, purpose, and scope of the PhilSys.
• National ID Registration Process – Steps in demographic and biometric data collection, ID issuance, and authentication.
• Security Features of the National ID – Safeguards embedded in the National ID to prevent fraud and misuse.
• National ID Authentication Services – Digital methods used by institutions to verify identity securely.
• Digital ID Access via eGovPH App – Guidelines on accessing the digital National ID through government platforms.
The activity concluded with a group photo session, marking the success of the event and the continued collaboration between PSA and healthcare institutions in promoting awareness and proper use of the National ID system.
