23 June 2025 - Pilar, Bataan. The Second Quarter meeting of the Bataan Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) was held earlier today via Zoom, bringing together national agencies and local stakeholders to discuss key data updates and reinforce data-driven governance at the provincial level.
Presided over by Ar. Mc Jefferson M. Valerio, OIC-Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and PSC Chairperson, the meeting commenced with a confirmation of quorum, allowing the body to proceed with its scheduled agenda.
Among the highlights was the session on Data Privacy and Security Awareness, delivered by Mr. Kenneth Bryan P. Landicho, Information Systems Analyst II of PSA Bataan. The presentation emphasized the importance of secure and ethical data handling, especially considering the agency’s increasing reliance on digital tools and systems in survey operations.
The PSC also tackled results from recent major statistical activities. Ms. Marielle A. Tuazon, Statistical Analyst of PSA Bataan, presented the findings from the 2024 Functional Literacy, Education and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS), while Mr. Allan G. Bruno, Statistical Specialist II, gave an overview of the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES). These datasets serve as essential references in the development of education, welfare, and income-related programs.
Furthermore, Mr. Kenneth Bryan P. Landicho presented the status of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Pre-Data Turnover, which included updates on submissions made by Local Government Units (LGUs) as of the meeting date. He emphasized the importance of continued LGU support to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of localized data critical to grassroots-level development planning.
As PSC Vice Chairperson and Secretariat, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan continues to lead efforts in unifying stakeholders through timely and reliable statistics that guide the province toward inclusive and informed development.
