08 July 2025 – BALER, AURORA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Aurora Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) kicked off the conduct of the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 with its Third Level Training held on 30 June 2025 to 06 July 2025 at Costa Pacifica, Brgy. Sabang, Baler, Aurora.

This was attended by 58 Hired Personnel (52 Statistical Researchers and 6 Team Supervisors), six trainers from Aurora Provincial Statistical Office. The seven-day training aimed to capacitate Statistical Researchers on the concepts and definitions, Survey Operations Procedures and protocols, the use of Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI), mock interview and field interview.

The LFS gathers data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the members of the household. It is the major source of data for labor force, employment, unemployment and underemployment. Also, it aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. Meanwhile, the FIES is the main source of data on family income and expenditure in the Philippines. This survey provides statistics that are needed in the different aspects of the country’s economic conditions such as on the measurement of poverty and the levels of living and disparities of different sections of the population and locations.
Immediately after the training, on 08 July 2025, the field personnel conducted courtesy call with the officials of the sample barangays to seek support and cooperation.

The sample households are guaranteed that their information will be kept confidential as stipulated in Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173, known as the Data Privacy Act. All data collected in the survey will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
