
PSA Bataan – awards 20 Certificates of Live Births in SECPA to Birth Registration Assistance Project beneficiaries in Samal, Bataan
28 January 2025 –The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Bataan, together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Samal awards free 20 PSA-issued Certificates of Live Births printed in Security Papers (SecPa) to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project in 3rd Floor Conference Hall, Samal Municipal Hall, Samal, Bataan.
PSA-Bataan Chief Statistical Specialist Francisco P. Corpuz together with Samal Municipal Administrator Jay Sammy Lat, OIC-Municipal Civil Registrar Arnel A. Cantor, LCRO Administrative Assistant Sienna Jimenez awarded the SecPa to the beneficiaries. Registration Officer I Lea Angeli Gabriel was also present in the activity to assist. Genaro Operario, 81 years old was the oldest beneficiary awarded during the activity while Princess Jeira Alcanta, 11 years old was the youngest.
As of January 23, 2025, a total of 9,427 birth records were received by PSA-Bataan for verification. Out of this number, a total of 9,427 birth records had been verified, wherein 7, 148 of which have no birth record.
Out of those that have been verified, a total of 570 birth records were processed through delayed registration before the concerned Local Civil Registry Offices while 385 COLBs were printed in SECPA and issued to the beneficiaries, free of charge.
The Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more and more Filipinos have benefited from this project. In addition, this project aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.
