PSA Bataan – conducted mobile registration at Brgy. Puting Buhangin, Orion, Bataan for the continued Implementation of BRAP in Bataan

21 January 2025 –The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Bataan, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Orion holds a mobile registration at Brgy. Puting Buhangin, Orion, Bataan to strengthen the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project.

Registration Officer I Lea Angeli E. Gabriel together with BRAP Coordinator Randeli Anne A. Barcarse visited the place of residence of the verified individuals with negative birth records in Civil Registration data base to confirm the status of their registration. This initiative aims to establish their legal identity as Filipinos, thereby safeguarding their rights and promoting their well-being.

As of January 16, 2025, a total of 9, 247 birth records were received by PSA-Bataan for verification. Out of this number, a total of 9, 210 birth records had been verified, wherein 7, 148 of which have no birth record.

Out of those that have been verified, a total of 570 birth records were processed through delayed registration before the concerned Local Civil Registry Offices while 385 COLBs were printed in SECPA and issued to the beneficiaries, free of charge.

The Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more and more Filipinos have benefited from this project. In addition, this project aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.
