The economy of Bataan posted an economic growth at 6.3 percent in 2023, slower than the 6.9 percent growth in 2022. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Bataan was estimated at PhP 275.11 billion in 2023, an increase of PhP 16.34 billion from the 2022 level. (Figure 1)

Among the 16 production industries, Mining and quarrying was the fastest growing industry at 25.8 percent. This was followed by Other services, and Accommodation and food service activities with a growth of 22.8 percent and 18.2 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the decline of Public administration and defense; compulsory social security at 3.6 percent and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing at 9.1 percent pulled down the growth of the province in 2023. (Figure 2)
