Zambales, 27 June 2025 – In line with its commitment to environmental stewardship and community development, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Zambales Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully participated in a Tree Planting Activity held on 27 June 2025 at 6:00 am at Blk. 27 Extension, Waterdam Road, Sitio Banca-bancaan, Gordon Heights, Olongapo City, in collaboration with LGU Olongapo City as part of the Cityhood Anniversary Celebration.
The activity was spearheaded by Mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr. as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in support of the National Greening Program (NGP) and ongoing local environmental initiatives. A total of 30 native and fruit-bearing tree seedlings were planted by PSA personnel, contributing to greener and more climate-resilient communities.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action, the tree planting highlighted the shared commitment of PSA, other partner agencies and LGU Olongapo to environmental sustainability. “Every tree we plant means a brighter future for the next generation,” PSA Zambales stated, reaffirming their advocacy for nature-based solutions to address climate change. Before the actual planting, participants were given a brief orientation on proper tree planting techniques and the importance of seedling care to ensure long-term survival and growth.
This event not only strengthened inter-agency cooperation but also raised public awareness on the importance of climate action and ecological restoration. It reinforces PSA Zambales' dedication to programs beyond statistics, affirming its active role in nation-building and sustainable development.
