Zambales - May 16, 2025 - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Zambales is conducting the May 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) with additional questions on volunteer work, running from May 8 to 31, 2025. This initiative aims to gather crucial data on the socio-economic characteristics of the population, providing insights into labor market trends in the province.
The LFS will focus on key labor force indicators such as participation rates, unemployment rates, hours worked, and the previous industries of the unemployed. The results will help inform policies and programs aimed at generating employment opportunities, reducing unemployment and underemployment, and improving the welfare of the workforce.
In addition to the standard labor force questions, this year’s survey includes rider questions on volunteer work. These questions aim to collect data at the household level, providing a clearer picture of volunteer activities—both paid and unpaid. This information will help measure the extent of volunteer work in the community and its potential role in economic development.
To ensure the accuracy of data collection, PSA-Zambales has deployed four (4) trained Statistical Researchers to conduct interviews across Zambales, surveying 102 households in Olongapo City and 99 households in other municipalities.
PSA-Zambales urges all selected households to cooperate fully with the survey. All information will be treated with strict confidentiality, in line with RA 10625 and RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).
