
Olongapo City – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Zambales Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully participated in the Second Level Training for the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 held from 16 to 21 June 2025 at the Subic Terrace Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City.
The six-day training was attended by a total of nine (9) participants from PSA Zambales, including the Chief Statistical Specialist, Provincial/Assistant Focal Persons, and other designated personnel who will serve as trainers for the upcoming Third Level Training.
This intensive capacity-building activity aimed to further strengthen the knowledge and technical competence of PSA personnel in preparation for the field enumeration phase. Trainers will cascade their learnings during the Third Level Training to Statistical Researchers (SRs) assigned for the actual data collection. The trainers, Mr. John Rey T. Duay and Ms. Ria Paula N. Lorenzo, facilitated the discussions and technical sessions. The program covered the following:
• Labor Force Survey (LFS) concepts and procedures over 1.5 days
• Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) content and protocols for the remaining training days
• System walkthroughs for:
• LFS-FIES Dashboard
• Supervisor’s Application
• Computer-Aided Data Collection System (CADaCS) using tablets
These tools and systems will be used in the July 2025 enumeration to ensure quality data collection and efficient field operations.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide household-based survey designed to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It provides essential indicators for labor market analysis, such as: Labor force participation rate, Employment and unemployment rates, hours worked, Industry and occupation of jobseekers.
