Volume of Production

Fisheries volume of production in Bataan province increase by 3.66 percent in the first quarter of 2025, totaling 3,493.57 metric tons. This represents an increase of 123.49 metric tons compared to the same quarter in 2024. (Table 1)

With regards to distribution, Commercial, Marine Municipal, Inland Municipal, and Aquaculture contributed 5.20 percent, 77.26 percent, 0.84 percent, and 16.69 percent, respectively, to the total production (Table 1).

During the first quarter of 2025, the volume of production for Commercial and Marine Municipal fisheries rose by 57.18 percent and 7.48 percent, respectively, compared to the same period in 2023. In contrast, Aquaculture and Inland Municipal production experienced a significant drop of 17.35 percent and 21.37 percent respectively (Figure 1).

From the first quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, the volume of Marine Municipal and Aquaculture production in Bataan province exhibited a fluctuating trend. A sharp decline in Marine Municipal production was noted between the second and third quarters of 2024. Meanwhile, the volume of production for Inland Municipal and Commercial fisheries remained relatively stable (Figure 2).

Value of Production

The total value of fisheries production in Bataan province was estimated at 420.85 million pesos in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting a 15 percent decrease from the 499.67 million pesos recorded in the same period of 2024 (Table 2).

In the first quarter of 2025, the value of production of Commercial fisheries fell by 15.15 percent compared to the same quarter in 2024. Conversely, the value of production for Marine Municipal, Inland Municipal and Aquaculture fisheries recorded significant declines, dropping by 17.77 percent, 32.34 percent, and 11.83 percent respectively (Figure 3).

The value of production for Marine Municipal and Aquaculture fisheries exhibited a fluctuating trend from the first quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025. For Marine Municipal fisheries, a sharp decline was observed from the first to the third quarter of 2024, followed by an upward trend through the first quarter of 2025. In contrast, the value of production for Commercial and Inland Municipal fisheries remained relatively stable during the same period (Figure 4).
