Corn Production Situation in Tarlac October to December 2023

Volume of Production of Palay Increase by 41.94 percent in the 4th quarter of 2023.

Corn production in Tarlac for the 4th quarter of 2023 was 863 metric tons. The increase is attributed to the program on Yellow Corn by D.A. – LGU and additional area harvested due to temporary shifting of high valued crops to Yellow Corn production. Yellow Corn increased by 91.89 percent or about 385 metric tons while White corn decrease by 68.78 percent or about 130 metric tons in 4th quarter 2022 as compared to 4th quarter of 2023.

Yield for Corn increased by 24 percent.

Corn Yield per hectare up by 24% percent from 4.98 metric tons in 4th quarter 2022 to 6.16 metric tons of same quarter in 2023. The increase is attributed to the high yielding seed used and good weather condition.
