Corn Production in metric tons in Aurora Decreases by -38.76 Percent
The total corn production in Aurora ranked fourth in the share in corn production with
2.73 percent share of the total Central Luzon corn production or 3,330.36 metric tons, next to Nueva Ecija which produced 6.67 percent share or 8,148.73 metric tons. The highest contributor in corn production was Tarlac at 70,536.00 metric tons (57.77% share). On the other hand, Bulacan contributed the least production at 125.00 metric tons (0.10% share) and followed by Bataan at 658.75 metric tons (0.54% share). (Figure 1 and 2)


The total corn production in Aurora decreased to 3,330.36 metric tons during the First Quarter of 2025 compared to the 5,437.95 metric tons in the same quarter during the previous year or by -38.76 percent decline. Meanwhile, Pampanga registered the highest growth rate at 29.84 percent and followed by Tarlac at 0.18 percent increase. On the other hand, Bataan posted the biggest decrease at -76.20 percent change. As a result, the total corn production in Central Luzon registered a 2.58 percent increase. (Table 1)

Majority of the corn production in Aurora in the First Quarter of 2025 came from the Yellow Corn at 98.81 percent contribution. Meanwhile, White Corn contributed only 1.19 percent share. (Figure 3)

Yellow corn production in Aurora decreased to 3,290.76 metric tons in the First Quarter of 2025 from 5,347.20 metric tons in the same quarter in 2024 or -38.46 percent decline. On the other hand, white corn also dropped by -56.36 percent change to 39.60 metric tons in the First Quarter of 2025 from 90.75 metric tons in the same period in 2024. (Table 2 and Figure 4)


The total area harvested of Corn in Aurora ranked fourth to the highest among the provinces in Central Luzon for the First Quarter of 2025 with a total of 846.00 hectares or 4.25 percent share of the region’s area harvested. In addition, Tarlac (10,080.00 hectares) had the largest area harvested for the same quarter at 50.58 percent share of Central Luzon’s total area harvested. On the other hand, Bulacan (25.00 hectares) had the smallest area harvested of Corn in the region with 0.13 percent share of Central Luzon’s area harvested. (Figure 5 and 6)


During the First Quarter of 2025, the area harvested for Corn in Aurora was 846.00 hectares or -14.63 percent lower than the First Quarter in 2024. The province with the highest percent change of total area harvested for Corn during the reference quarter in 2025 was Nueva Ecija (1.96%). On the other hand, Bataan posted the biggest decline in its area harvested at -78.58 percent decrease from the First Quarter of the previous year. Due to a relative decline in several provinces, Central Luzon’s total area harvested posted a -4.77 percent decrease. (Table 3)

Majority of the area harvested in Aurora in the First Quarter of 2025 came from the Yellow Corn at 98.23 percent share. Meanwhile, White Corn contributed only 1.77 percent share. (Figure 7)

Area harvested of yellow corn in Aurora decreased to 831.00 hectares in the First Quarter of 2025 from 960.00 hectares in the same quarter in 2024 or -13.44 percent decline. On the other hand, white corn also dropped by -51.61 percent change to 15.00 hectares in the First Quarter of 2025 from 31.00 hectares in the same period in 2024. (Table 4 and Figure 8)
