The monthly Virtual Press Conference for the Inflation Report in Nueva Ecija was held on January 15, 2024 at 4:00 in the afternoon via Google Meet and was also aired live via the official Facebook page of PSA Nueva Ecija. The PressCon was held at the Provincial Statistical Office of Nueva Ecija in Cabanatuan City.

Senior Statistical Specialist Rommel L. Payawal served as the presenter of the Inflation Report while SS II Aphrodite Ortiz served as the Moderator.
The monthly press conference was the localized version of the monthly Press Conference conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority- Central Office led by Usec. Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician. In compliance to the directive, the provincial office was also tasked to conduct the monthly press conference with the press people and the provincial line agencies the provincial data on the increasing and decreasing prices of goods and services as compared to last year’s and last month’s prices.
In December 2024 Inflation, Nueva Ecija’s inflation rate decreased to 2.1 percent compared to 2.3 percent in November 2024. Meanwhile, the following commodity group registered a faster annual increment: Transport with -2.1 percent from -4.0 percent; Clothing and footwear with 3.6 percent from 3.3 percent; and Alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 1.4 percent from 1.3 percent.

The purchasing power of peso remains at 0.75 which means a 1.00 peso in the year 2018 has now a value of 0.75 peso for seven (7) consecutive months.
The press conference was attended by our provincial line agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and our press people/media partners from DWNE. They served as our constant partners in disseminating the monthly inflation of the province. Mr. Karlo Bonifacio from the Central Office of the PSA also joined us during the virtual Press Conference. Soon after the presentation of Inflation results, a question and answer segment followed to accommodate the attendee’s questions and clarifications. Further, public queries via the FB comment section were also accommodated.
