
March 14, 2025 – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bulacan conducted a press conference to report the province’s inflation rate for February 2025. Supervising Statistical Specialist Marcelino O. De Mesa announced that Bulacan's inflation rate decelerated to 2.0 percent, down by 0.5 percentage point from 2.5 percent in January 2025.
Major contributor to the deceleration of the inflation:
Among the 13 commodity groups, the key contributors to the downward trend in inflation were:
- Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels – declined to 1.0 percent from 2.4 percent in January;
- Transport – contracted to -0.9 percent from 0.3 percent in the previous month and;
- Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages – slowed down to 3.9 percent from 4.1 percent
On the other hand, certain commodity groups registered higher inflation rates, including:
- Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco – increased to 8.5 percent from 7.4 percent;
- Clothing and Footwear – rose to 1.3 percent from 1.1 percent;
- Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance climbed to 1.2 percent from 1.0 percent; and
- Information and Communication – slightly increased to 0.3 percent from 0.0 percent.
Meanwhile, Education Services remained at 2.2 percent, and Financial Services at 0.0 percent, showing no changes from the previous month.
