2024- PRPOPCEN-CBMS - OCT2024-044

04 October 2024 – Aurora Province: The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Aurora is dedicated to ensuring effective supervision and monitoring of its operations, achieving a 99.94% completion rate in data collection for the entire province in its final week. The office's commitment to successfully conclude this operation is reflected in its implementation of close and regular oversight. Launched nationwide on July 15, 2024, the 2024 Census of Population and the Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) is in its 12th week and concluding phase, aiming to update the number of households and the population throughout the country, ensuring that no one is left behind.

This activity of the field office is to ensure that its supervisors closely and frequently monitor the field personnel across all eight municipalities in the province. This rigorous duty is intended to address any issues and concerns promptly, ensuring that personnel needs are communicated effectively to the responsible parties.

Due to the province's geographical characteristics, supervising the area presents challenges. In some area, it can take a full day to travel to the destination. Even within a 50 km radius of the Field Office, travel times can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours because of the mountainous terrain.

The close supervision is vital for the smooth execution of the POPCEN-CBMS, ensuring that the operation effectively meets its objectives. Field personnel have focused on verifying, saturating, and following up with the remaining households, to ensure that everyone is counted.

The Field Office's commitment to detailed and frequent supervision is crucial for the seamless implementation of the POPCEN-CBMS, with the goal of achieving accurate and efficient data collection and monitoring.

Overall, the PSA-Aurora remains dedicated to fulfilling its theme: “Sa POPCEN-CBMS kasama sa pag-unlad tungo sa Makabagong Pilipinas.”
