20 June 2024 – Baler, Aurora. Philippine Statistics Authority - Aurora successfully completed the six-day Provincial Level Training for the 2024 Census of Population-Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS). The training took place at the Provincial Statistical Office, J.S. Center Barangay Pingit, Baler, Aurora from June 10 to 15, 2024 that marked the crucial step in preparing the leaders for the upcoming census operation.

This training involved field office staff, office-based personnel and 10 newly hired Census-CBMS Area Supervisors (CAS) assigned to oversee the operations in the province’s eight (8) municipalities. The primary objectives of the training were to equip participants with fundamental concepts, objectives, and practical skills necessary for conducting the census. Participants were provided with tablets to familiarize themselves with various software applications crucial to the operation. Additionally, a variety of activities were employed to enhance engagement and enthusiasm among the trainees.

Looking ahead, the Municipal Level Training is scheduled for the first and second weeks of July 2024. This subsequent phase will focus on further preparing the participants to act as trainers at the municipal level, ensuring comprehensive readiness for the upcoming census operations.

This rigorous training regimen underscored the commitment of the PSA to conducting a thorough and accurate census, crucial for effective governance and planning at the local and national levels.
