Tarlac City, Tarlac – The National Identification (NID) System in Tarlac Province has commenced the registration of children aged 0-4 years old, in line with Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the "Philippine Identification System Act." This initiative aims to provide young Filipinos with a valid proof of identity from birth, ensuring their seamless access to essential services as they grow.
Section 3 of RA 11055 mandates the establishment of a single national identification system for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens, including newborn babies. This ensures that every individual is recognized in official records and can benefit from government programs and services. Registering young children for the National ID offers several advantages. It serves as a reliable form of identification that simplifies access to healthcare, education, and social welfare programs. Having an official record of identity can also streamline various activities, such as school enrollment, obtaining government benefits, and even travel.
Moreover, several government programs, including subsidies for education and healthcare, may require a national ID for registration. The early registration of children ensures their inclusion in the national system, allowing them to easily exercise their rights and access services throughout their lives. Parents and guardians are encouraged to take advantage of this initiative to secure their child's identity and future benefits.
