Poultry Products Production in metric tons in Aurora Increased by 7.98 percent

The total volume of poultry products in Aurora increased to 230.11 metric tons in 2024 from 213.11 metric tons in 2023 or by 7.98 percent growth. (Table 1)

The total poultry production in Aurora was comprised of all poultry products such as chicken, chicken egg, duck and duck eggs. Among the total poultry production on the third quarter of 2024, chicken recorded the highest production with 146.63 metric tons, followed by chicken egg with 35.80 production. On the other hand, duck egg registered the lowest production with 23.72 metric tons. 

 

Among these poultry products, chicken contributed 63.72 percent of the total volume of production on the third quarter of 2024, followed by chicken egg at 15.56 percent. Meanwhile, duck egg had the least share in the volume of production with 10.31 percent. (Figure 1)

 

Livestock Production in metric tons in Aurora decreased by 25.15 percent

The total livestock production in Aurora was comprised of carabao, cattle, hog, and goat. Among these animals, hog and goat production contributed to the decrease by recording a -32.14 percent decrease or 581.30 metric tons in 2024 from 856.64 metric tons in 2023 while goat had -2.11 percent decrease or 36.67 metric tons in 2024 from 37.47 metric tons in 2023. Meanwhile, carabao recorded the highest increase at 12.77 percent, followed by cattle at 1.05 percent increase. (Table 2)

 

In addition to this, hogs had the highest percent share in livestock production at 72.84 percent on the third quarter of 2024, followed by the production of cattle at 15.20 percent. Goat had the least contribution on the volume of livestock production with 4.60 percent share. (Figure 2)

 

Number of Heads of Animals Slaughtered in Slaughterhouses in Aurora Decreased by 5.95 percent

The total heads of livestock slaughtered in Aurora declined to 6,913 heads in 2024 from 7,350 heads in 2023 or by -5.95 percent.

Out of the 2024 total heads slaughtered, hogs contributed 6,270 heads or 90.70 percent while cattle came in second with 536 heads or 7.75 percent shared. On the other hand, goat had the least percent share of 0.06 percent. (Table 3 and Figure 3)
