Poultry Products Production in metric tons in Aurora Increased by 0.83 percent

The total volume of poultry products in Aurora slightly increased to 204.84 metric tons in 2024 from 203.15 metric tons in 2023 or by 0.83 percent growth. (Table 1)

The total poultry production in Aurora was comprised of all poultry products such as chicken, chicken egg, duck and duck eggs. Among the total poultry production on the second quarter of 2024, chicken recorded the highest production with 142.44 metric tons, followed by chicken egg with 36.56 production. On the other hand, duck egg registered the lowest production with 35.76 percent decrease in 2024.

 

Among these poultry products, chicken contributed 69.54 percent of the total volume of production on the second quarter of 2024, followed by chicken egg at 17.85 percent. Meanwhile, duck egg had the least share in the volume of production with 5.83 percent. (Figure 1)

 

Livestock Production in metric tons in Aurora decreased by 31.29 percent

The total livestock production in Aurora was comprised of carabao, cattle, hog, and goat. Among these animals, hog production contributed to the decrease by recording a 42.02 percent or 600.61 metric tons in 2024 from 1,035.83 metric tons in 2023. Meanwhile, cattle recorded the highest increase at 45.26 percent, followed by goat at 3.55 percent increase. (Table 2) 

 

In addition to this, hogs had the highest percent share in livestock production at 71.38 percent on the second quarter of 2024, followed by the production of cattle at 18.28 percent. Carabao had the least contribution on the volume of livestock production with 3.14 percent share. (Figure 2)

 

Number of Heads of Animals Slaughtered in Slaughterhouses in Aurora Decreased by 10.85 percent

The total heads of livestock slaughtered in Aurora declined to 6,974 heads in 2024 from 7,823 heads in 2023 or by -10.85 percent. Goat posted the highest decline with 60 percent. (Table 3)

Out of the 2024 total heads slaughtered, hogs contributed 6,361 heads or 91.21 percent while cattle came in second with 507 heads or 7.27 percent shared. On the other hand, goat had the least percent share of 0.03 percent. (Table 3 and Figure 3)
