The total inventory of poultry products in Aurora slightly increased to 262,098 heads in the second quarter of 2024 from 240,154 heads in 2023 or by 9.14 percent growth. (Table 1)
The total poultry inventory in Aurora was comprised of chicken, broiler, layer, native/improved and duck. Among the total poultry inventory on the second quarter of 2024, chicken recorded the highest inventory with 131,049 heads, followed by native/improved with 129,159 heads. On the other hand, layer registered the lowest inventory despite having the highest percent growth from its inventory in 2023.
Among these types of poultry, Chicken contributed 42.12 percent of the total inventory of poultry in 2024 and followed by Native/Improved at 41.51 percent. Meanwhile, broiler had no share in the second quarter of 2024 poultry inventory. (Figure 1)
Livestock Inventory in heads in Aurora Decreased by 7.18 percent
The total livestock inventory in Aurora was comprised of carabao, cattle, goat, and swine. Among these animals, swine inventory contributed to the decrease by recording a -27.06 percent or 15,520 heads in 2024 from 21,279 heads in 2023. Goat recorded the highest increase at 5.01 percent, followed by carabao at 1.21 percent. (Table 2)
In addition to this, Cattle had the highest percent share in livestock inventory at 31.12 percent in the second quarter of 2024 and followed by the inventory of Carabao at 29.52 percent. While Goat had the least contribution on the inventory which had 16.76 percent shared. (Figure 2)
