Registered marriages increased by 28.5 percent in 2023
In 2023, a total of 47,684 marriages were registered in Central Luzon with 11.3 percent share in the country, marking a 5.8 percent decrease from the 50,633 total registered marriages in 2022 with 11.0 percent share in the country.
Central Luzon recorded a crude marriage rate of 3.7 or about 4 marriages per thousand population in 2023. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

Bataan has the highest percentage share of timely registered marriages
Out of 47,684 registered marriages in Central Luzon, 46,536 (97.6 percent) were registered within the reglementary period after the marriage date, and 1,148 (2.4 percent) were registered beyond the reglementary period.
Among the seven provinces and two Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Bataan has the highest number of marriages that were registered on time, with 99.6 percent. This was followed by Aurora and Pampanga with 98.3 percent, and Zambales with 98.2 percent.
On the other hand, the City of Olongapo has the highest number of marriages that were registered late, with 9.8 percent. (Figure 2 and Table 2)

Registered marriages are highest in Bulacan
Among the seven provinces and two Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Bulacan recorded the highest number of registered marriages, with 12,261 (25.7 percent) of the total marriages in Central Luzon. This was followed by Pampanga with 9,718 (20.3 percent) and Nueva Ecija with 9,410 (19.7 percent).
On the other hand, the City of Olongapo had the lowest number of registered marriages, with 1,055 (2.1 percent) of total marriages in the region. (Figure 3 and Table 2)

Most marriages occurred in February
In 2023, February recorded the highest number of registered marriages with 6,086 (12.8 percent) of the total registered marriages in Central Luzon. This translates to a daily average of 220 marriages within that month. The month of December ranked second with 5,762 (12.1 percent), followed by the month of June with 4,685 (9.8 percent).
On the other hand, the month of August had the least number of registered marriages with 2,429 (5.1 percent). (Figure 4 and Table 3)

Majority of couples are married between ages 25 to 29 years
Of the total number of registered marriages in Central Luzon, 19,616 (41.1 percent) women were aged 25 to 29 when they got married, whereas 18,262 (38.3 percent) were men.
The number of grooms who are over 50 years of age (874 or 1.8 percent share) was twice than the number of brides of the same age group (323 or 0.68 percent share).
In 2023, a total of 1,554 (3.26 percent share) marriages involved adolescent females below 20 years old. This is almost four times the number of marriages involving adolescent males (450 or 0.9 percent share). (Figure 5, Table 4, and Table 5)
