In 2022, a total of 50,633 marriages were registered in Central Luzon with 11.3 percent share in the country, marking a 28.5 percent increase from the total registered marriages of 39,402 in 2021 with 11.0 percent share in the country.

Central Luzon recorded crude marriage rate of 4.0 or 4 marriages per thousand population in 2022. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

Bataan has the highest percent share of timely registered marriages 

Out of 50,633 registered marriages in Central Luzon, 49,043 (96.9 percent) registered within the reglementary period after the marriage date and 1,590 (3.1 percent) registered beyond the reglementary period.

Among the seven provinces and two Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Bataan has the highest number of marriages who registered on time with 99.5 percent. This was followed by Pampanga with 98.3 percent and City of Angeles with 98.1 percent.

On the other hand, City of Olongapo has the highest number of marriages who registered late with 9.0 percent. (Figure 2 and Table 2)

Registered marriages highest in Bulacan

Among the seven provinces and two Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), Bulacan recorded the highest number of registered marriages with 13,056 (25.8 percent) of the total marriages in Central Luzon. This was followed by Pampanga with 10,607 (20.9 percent) and Nueva Ecija with 10,320 (20.4 percent).

On the other hand, City of Olongapo had the lowest number of registered marriages with 1,057 (2.1 percent) of total marriages in the region. (Figure 3 and Table 2)

Most marriages occurred in December

In 2022, December recorded the highest number of registered marriages with 6,809 (13.4 percent) of the total registered marriages in Central Luzon. This translates to a daily average of 220 marriages within that month. The month of February ranked second with 6,338 (12.5 percent), followed by the month of April with 5,995 (11.8 percent). 

On the other hand, the month of September had the least number of registered marriages with 2,810 (5.5 percent). (Figure 4 and Table 3)

Majority of couples married between ages 25 to 29 years 

Of the total number of registered marriages in Central Luzon, 20,021 (39.5 percent) women were aged 25 to 29 when they got married, whereas 19,210 (37.9 percent) are men. 

The number of men who are over 50 years of age (1,959 or 3.9 percent share) was twice than the number of women of the same age group (910 or 1.7 percent share). 

In 2022, a total of 2,205 (4.4 percent share) marriages involved adolescent female below 20 years old. This is almost four times the number of marriages involving adolescent males (631 or 1.2 percent share). (Figure 5, Table 4, and Table 5)
