CLSU’s Bet Emerges CL PSQ Champ
The statistics wizard of the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) emerges as Central Luzon’s regional champion of the 26th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) on 14 November 2022, 1:30 PM, at the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Mr. Peter Ryuken Hermosura, a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology student, bested the other 36 contestants coming from the different colleges and universities in Central Luzon. The 26th PSQ was simultaneously conducted by the 17 regions of the country at various regional centers.
Meanwhile, Mr. John Renz Magtalas of the Don Honorio Ventura State University and Ms. Princess Ericka Serrano of the Holy Angel University came in as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Mr. Hermosura will represent Central Luzon in the national championship which will be held on 07 December 2022 in Metro Manila.
Although suspended for the past two years due to Covid-19, PSQ is back and now on its 26th series. It is a nationwide annual contest designed to test the knowledge on statistics of first year college students enrolled in colleges and universities in the 17 regions of the country. The quiz primarily aims to identify and nurture talents in the field of statistics and instill deeper appreciation on the significance of statistics for evidence-based decision-making.
