This is to inform the public that starting Friday, 23 February 2023 at 6:00PM, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will be fully implementing walk-in registration to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) nationwide. Given this streamlining of the registration process, the online Step 1 Registration portal will be disabled. To register to PhilSys, individuals can visit any registration center with their identification and supporting documents. For the list of PhilSys registration centers, please refer to the PhilSys website at https://www.philsys.gov.ph/registration-center/. For your information and guidance. The region’s total fisheries production grew by 3.7 percent, 89,943.4 metric tons from the estimated 86,750.4 metric tons in the fourth quarter of 2021. The increase was attributed to the increase in commercial and aquaculture fisheries sectors at 525.4 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively. However, both marine and inland municipal fisheries production declined by 5.3 percent and 12.1 percent, respectively. The total corn production of Central Luzon for the fourth quarter of 2022 slightly declined to 8.5 thousand metric tons in the fourth quarter of 2022 from 8.6 thousand metric tons last year, posting 2.1 percent decrease. Northern Mindanao and Cagayan Valley had the highest production at 558.9 thousand metric tons (28.2%) and 432.1 thousand metric tons (21.8%), respectively. The region produced 1,375.8 thousand metric tons of palay placing as the country’s top palay producing region during the fourth quarter of 2022. The region contributed 19.0 percent to the total palay production of the country followed by Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley with 17.5 percent and 13.0 percent contribution, respectively. Central Luzon remained to be the top producer of chicken in the country, contributing more than one third (34.8%) to the national production. During the period January to December 2022, the total volume of chicken production in the region was 649,874.8 metric tons, liveweight.
